How do I know if my devices are connected?Updated 6 days ago

The coloured dots in the Moggie app show the last time your Tracker synced data with your Hub.

You’ll see this information in the Cat List and under Manage Devices.

1) Hub

🟢 Green dot = Connected

🔴 Red dot = The Hub may not be connected to the internet

If your Hub shows a red dot, check that:

• The Hub is plugged in
• The Wi-Fi connection is working
• The Hub shows a solid white light

If needed, you can reset the Hub and follow the steps in Manage Devices to add it again.

2) Tracker

The coloured dots for your Tracker show when the last data sync happened between the Tracker and the Hub.

🟢 Green dot = Last data sync less than 8 hours ago

🟡 Yellow dot = Last data sync 8–48 hours ago

🔴 Red dot = Last data sync more than 48 hours ago

It's important to know that yellow or red does not usually mean your Tracker is disconnected or not working.

The Tracker stores activity data and sends it to the Hub the next time your cat comes within range.

This means syncing often happens when your cat:

• passes near the Hub
• returns indoors
• visits an area where the Hub is located

For best results, we recommend placing the Hub somewhere your cat regularly spends time.

Red sync notification

If the app hasn’t received data for more than 48 hours, you may see a notification that says:

“Last data sync for [cat name] was over 48 hours ago.”

If your cat has been near the Hub and you aren't receiving data, please contact us at [email protected] and we’ll be happy to investigate.

If a Tracker has become disconnected, you can follow the steps in Manage Devices to re-add it to your cat.

App version update

If you are using a version of the Moggie app older than 3.0.3, these indicators may appear differently.

For the best experience, please update your Moggie app to version 3.0.3 or later through the App Store or Google Play.

For additional troubleshooting, check out the tips in 'Why is my Moggie data not coming through?'

--- for users on app versions older than 3.0.3 ---

1) Hub
🟢 green dot = connected
🔴 red dot =  something is wrong with the data connection, and you might need to check your settings or repeat the 'add hub' steps to make sure it's online.

You should also see a solid white light on the Hub itself.
If your Hub is disconnected, try resetting and following the steps from 'Manage devices' on the menu to re-add the Hub.

2) Tracker
🟢 green dot = health data last received <8h ago
🟡 yellow dot = health data last received 8-24h ago*
🔴 red dot = health data last received more than 24h ago**

*Don't worry, it doesn't mean your cat is disconnected - if they're near the Hub the next time it 'pings' the Tracker for data, this will update automatically. (This is why we recommend leaving the Hub plugged in somewhere the cat frequents!)

**If your Tracker shows 'last connected' as more than 24h ago and your cat has been in frequent contact with the Hub since then, drop us a note on the contact form and we'll take a look behind the scenes for you.

If a Tracker has disconnected, follow the steps from 'Manage devices' on the menu to re-add it to the cat.
